how to replace 3rd row seat belt guide
My wife broke the little plastic clip that are used to hold / guide the 3rd row seat belt. I found and bought the part (part no. 16686900149051 , you can look at this picture to get a better idea which clip I'm talking about, item 4 in the pictures)
However it isn't trivial how to replace it. I took out the side trim at the end of the trunk (which just pop right off from pulling), poke my head inside, hoping to find a screw that fasten it to the panel. However instead found some sort of plastic peg that hold it in place, not sure how to remove it. Scared to try pry it off by force, worrying it will break that peg as well, and the peg is not listed on the part list, not sure if I can get replacement if if I break it.
Anyone tried this? Maybe I didn't describe this good enough I will try to upload some pictures when I get home tonight.

Replace seat belts
I've taken all the belts out of my 2014 GL350 before and it's not terribly hard. I am not sure, but I don't believe that guide piece is separate. I can check tonight on mine (I have it removed right now).

No I never figured out, at the end I had to do some rear bumper work and I asked the bodyshop to do me a solid to replace it. The guy said the piece wasn’t even attached with a screw or anything, but the end is melted / or plastic glued in place. Just happy that I got it done for free...

Yeah I just never figured out how to take that trim apart to be able to get to the back of the trim... if you find out, let me know... I feel like it’s just a matter of time it will break again...

I'm out of town right now so I'll have a look when I get back. I assumed some sort of pan head screw held it in place from behind the panel, but maybe not. I'll update when I have a look since this sounds like a common issue on the GL.

You mention about removal of the seat belts before, can you give me some advice about this please? Im going to change the C & D pillar trims in my GL63 soon (along with A pillars) because I hate the light grey colour headliner on my black with black vehicle, obviously the C & D pillars will need to detach the seatbelts from the body to remove and refit.
Thanks
Carl

Hello came across this post from 2016 as I was doing some research as it seems to be a common thing to break these seat belt clips.
I note the part number you listed, is that a generic part number regardless of the country of residence? I am from Australia.
Just trying to source one and work out how to fit it.
Thanks for any further help if you have any.
Cheers, Andrew
