Hi:

I have a 2014 GL450. The temp controls for the cup holders, the 12V outlet near the cup holders, and the USB port in the center console are not working. This happened about 3 months ago. It was fixed under warranty and at the time I was told that coin likely fell in there and shorted it out. Now it has happened again. We don't normally keep any change anywhere near there. Any chance it is fuse? Are these three items on the same fuse?

Yes and yes. I had a similar issue. It was caused (I found it after it was fixed) by a cheap cell phone adapter that shorted it out and blew the fuse.

 

Yes, I also had the same thing. I think I had my phone charging in the charger with the cupholder going and somehow it blew a fuse. They replaced and haven't had a problem since. I would tell them you think a fuse blew and the should replace it again.

 

Dropped a penny into the "cigarette lighter" and it shorted out all three of these mentioned items. So can't charge a cell phone.

I need some help identifying where the fuse is so I can change it out.

Can somebody please tell me.

I had the same issue and the mbworld community help me out last week.
Here it is: the fuse box is under the second row seat on the driver side, open the fuse box and there is a chart inside, look closely at your chart to identify the fuses and bring those broken fuses to auto advantage or auto zone . In my case the heated cup and 12V outlet near the cupholder not working but the blue fuse for the 12V outlet blowed, after replaced it, both heated cup holder and 12V outlet work.

 

I have a 2018 GLE and the temp control cup holder and the 12 V don't work. I have NO fuse chart, I have checked three boxes and there is no info. I can't even find on the internet which fuse it is.

 

Help. The cooling and heated cup holders on My ‘17 GLE43 suddenly stopped working but my 12v power outlet is working fine. What can be the problem. I thought these are both on the same fuse. Thanks for any advice.

 

I came by to say this worked perfectly for me and is still relevant. I recently purchased a 2014 GL450 and the cigarette lighter was stuck in the down position and the cupholder button didn’t work. I checked the fuse under the rear driver side seat and it was in fact blown. Replaced the fuse and the issue is now resolved. Cupholder cooler/warmer works again as well as the cigarette lighter. Thanks for this quick fix!

 

I think I had this problem once. If I recall correctly a penny fell into my 12 volt cigarette outlet causing the fuse to blow. I Replaced the fuse and fixed it, no harm no foul.
