FROM GL TO MINIVAN!

Alright guys i need some advice before my great depression!

2 years ago i purchased a brand spanking new CLS63 knowing we were going to have a baby....and even with one kid, the cls was perfect

wife gets pregnant with twins! , cls with less than 7500km goes away and the fat GL is here...

now we are expecting a third kid (all kids will be under the age of 3) and i am having a hard time getting it to work in the gl, my wife is begging me to buy a sienna.....

anyone else experience something like this? 3 kids in full car seats, at least 2 years away from boosters.

cls63 --> gl ---> sienna/end of life

(my wife almost never drives, and 99% of the time i am with the kids, so a side luxury toy would just collect dust)

what to do.

here is my gl

Assuming all the seats don't face the rear, shouldn't be an issue.

1 bucket and 2 full seats, i cant get them all in the second row
at this point the only way is both full seats in 3rd row and baby bucket in second, no more trunk space

im trying to make it work, but 3 kids in car seats is hell for anything that doesnt have sliding doors and second row middle passage

Get the Sienna. It's not just the room - the opening created by sliding doors is invaluable.
We had a Honda Odyssey when my 2 kids were little, and getting them in and out of the seats is a lot more comfortable with a minivan. And the ability to move around the van when needed is important too...

... oh, just for reference - I switched to the ugly green minivan from a chipped Nogaro B5 S4 w/full suspension upgrade, and lived . I could only stand driving it for 2 years though, and replaced the minivan with a Land Rover the first chance I got.

Bonjour,

upgrade is always the better, but downgrade gonna kill you man....Mini Van will always sucks, and in Montreal you know its snow heaven just take some pain of getting kids arranged in 2/3 rd row. They would be more safe in this car then the Sienna anyway.

I too have 3 kids and I use to keep 1 smarty at the 3rd row and put the other seat down so that I can use half side for the kid and half for the cargo. And other 2 cry babies use to go on the 2nd row.

Thanks

was in the same situation

I can tell you, your wife will be happier with the van. We got the Sienna with AWD Limited. We traded our 2014 GL450 for the van. I was not happy about it but my wife who drives it every day it much happier. As they say "Happy Wife Happy Life". After getting the van she was on board with me getting a 2013 SL550. I think everything worked out great for me.

Own 2005 CLK500, but drive 2011 Sienna :)
We have both GL and Sienna. Sienna is more convenient for the kids. GL for the driver
