Dealer service- over prices

I hate Mercedes Service.
I requested an oil change, engine air filter, cabin filter, diesel fuel filter. Nothing extra in writing.
Just got a text, $1,400 Bill. The dealer does not understand Nothing extra. I did not ask you to flush my brakes, top off my DEF, check my air pressures, check for leaks, check brake pads or rotate my tires. I've done all that my self. Ugh!!!!
Wholesale on all the parts is $388, retail is $513.
Picking up the truck at 3. Who do I complain to at the dealership. The price seem obnoxious.

Speak with Service Manager, and tell them I dont want to put a bad review when I get email from MBUSA regarding the service experience. And if he doesnt listen then open a case with Mercedes.

At this point you cant do much, surprsingly either of you\SA should have asked or communicated regarding the price...

Thanks

Normally they tell you up front what it will cost. Or at least they should have.

That's when you point to where you put it in writing and say thanks for the free extra work.

Someone screwed up, and yes I agree, their pricing can be obnoxious at times.

Even then, you have to hold them to it. Had our first A service that was pre-paid last week. Requested splash guards installed was quoted $600, and was quoted around $1,100 for 4 new Michelin Premier LTX tires installed. The splash guards + labor was cheaper than quoted and actually came out to $485.

'That'll be $2,000 dollars please.'

Wait....what? Had to wait as the service manager got the correct tire prices and he made a mistake in quoting us the price with the $150 off 4 tires promo. Total ended up around $1,500 and change, which was a lot closer to what we were expecting.

Don't be afraid to ask questions and push back.

You need to speak to the service manager and explain the situation. Mistakes do happen but if its their mistake you should not have to pay. Don't go in accusing them of trying to screw you just explain the situation and be prepared to tell them what you expect them to do to rectify the situation, plus as mentioned earlier you can mention to them you are unhappy and this will reflect in their rating. Good luck

if you told them exactly what you want to get done and it's in writing, you can deny anything else they have done and refuse to pay

My dealer always gives me a quote before anything done. If finds something, calls me before does it with cost.
