Mercedes Benz GL350
Coolant ?

Hi, I've got 2013 GL350 and a message just appeared that I have to check coolant level. What kind of coolant should I add if needed?

I got that message before when I went skiing a few months ago, when outside temperatures were low, but I read somewhere it's normal to get that kind of warning message when it's cold. But right now it's warm..

Thanks for the answers in advance!

Check your manual--there should be a coolant spec listed--then visit an auto parts store and look for coolant that meets that spec!

distilled water in a pinch works great just so you can take it to the dealer.

on GLC300 #2 (GL350 before those)
Like a shmuck, I bought a gallon jug of the official Mercedes coolant concentrate when I was slightly down and got the message. Next time I drove into the dealer for some warranty issue I saw they had jugs of ready to pour stuff all around. Maybe you just want to see if they will top you off since you're a regular customer, if you are. All you need is a few ounces. Wish I could let you use some of my stuff, might be a long drive to Detroit for you.

Always use distilled water in coolant mix
