New brake rotors and pads.
Its time to replace brake rotors and pads on my 14 gl450 x166 which has 34500miles, should I go for oem or go for zimmerman, brembo brakes, any input appreciated.

You'll need to verify fitment, but there are great alternatives out there that can save a lot of cash and work great.

brembo brakes, like other high end brake systems will produce a low speed squeal. This is usually countered with high end pads, like Carbotech. Prepare to pay dearly for it.

Well... make sure you get the correct front discs - might suggest getting dealer quote with correct part#'s 1st - that way you don't have to guess.
Any competent brake shop can do the work - make sure they "hand tighten" on the lugs when they zip it back up.
If OE brakes were fine for you - don't ovethink too much - Pagid pads or Centric Posi-Quiet pads will be fine - if it was me Posi-Quiet.
Get a tube of Mercedes Brake Goo for the front pads.
Keep the beat !

My suggestion:
1) Buy from partsgeek.com
2) Get the Zimmermann, they are made in Germany and a top notch aftermarket replacement. I use them on my Porsche and GL63. These are one piece rotors on the GL, nothing fancy.
3) Get the Textar pads, the are "OE-formulated". The OEM pads are actually made by Textar. They are organic, if you want less dust, get posi-quiet ceramic. But I suggest the Textar.
4) Have the tech soak the pads in stop squeal. You should have no issues.
