2014 GL 450

2014 GL450 Side Mirror Triangle Sensor Always Lid RED

The sensor on the driver side always lid RED doesn't matter if I drive fast or slow. How to diagnose and possibly fixing it?

It's not about speed it's blind spot assist and does it show red all the time?

Have you turned off blind spot assist to test it?

It's red all the time. I haven't turned off the option. I will do it tomorrow to find out.

It's always lid red when I start driving. I haven't try to turn off the option I will test that out.

I too have this similar issue but intermittent only, it happens to me when I am on the extreme left lane beside the divider, once I change the lane and come back to left lane again it disappears.

Take a video clip and show it to SA and It should be fixed under warranty, if you are out of warranty then that mirror costs around $7-800 and easy to install if not then dealer\indy would charge you 1 hour labor.

Hmm.. is this an issue? I've noticed sometimes when I'm either on the extreme right or left lanes without vehicles, the indicator will come on also. Like for example if there are rail guards or dividers with slightly higher than normal esp in construction areas where they temporary put these up. I mean it does make sense to me the indicator comes on coz' technically I can't change lane to really go over the divider or guard rails even if it is not really a car beside me.

I've seen ours (bought used 2015 GL last Friday) light for a moment when there was no other car nearby, and no obstructions like lane dividers were present. It's happened a couple of times on out quiet residential street.

I guess I'd rather have a false positive indication than a false negative.
