Switched my hood emblem to black.

I feel the blue emblems on a Diamond White vehicle don't look very attractive so I switched the wheel caps and hood emblem to the black OEM versions. Pics of the hood emblem I just received attached.

2015 - GL 550
Looks Great. But can you please let us know how did you remove the existing Emblem because when my detailer tried to install the Xpel on hood he just couldnt get the Emblem out and we didnt wanted to juggle with it fearing we may end up scratching the paint. Can you post a little instructions. I got 2015 GL550, not sure what model year you got.
And where did you buy the emblem from?
Thanks

Well, I don't know if I recommend this but.....I used a precision screw driver to kind of stab into the lowest side of the emblem and applied upward pressure to get a little lift off of the hood.

Meanwhile, with my opposite hand I slid a second and larger precision screw driver under the emblem to hold it up a bit until I could reach my flat interior trim tool to slide under and pry/pop the emblem off.

I've seen other people claim that dental floss will work but I guess the brand I had was coated so it wouldn't slide beneath.

Maybe a nice sized needle nosed plier will work if you can apply enough grip and pull upward.

Mine is a 2013.
