GL 500 x166
Engine temperature

Hi i have a GL 500 x166,
The tempeature is like 92 / 95 degrees.
Is it nornal?

2015 - GL 550
It is normal and being summer with AC On the degrees would be +3/4 extra, and in winter it would be -3/4 degree lesser.
If you see the temp over 98 then its a concern because the water would boil at 99.

But 95-97 is normal and you should be fine.

Temp gauge

I have a ML350 and it runs the same. Asked the dealer about it and they said it was normal. Not same car or engine but I think you are OK

I would think there's a bit more "headroom" before worrying about boiling. Cooling systems are pressurized, which raises the temperature required for the coolant to boil. Also, the antifreeze added to the coolant raises the boiling point.

Still, your point is valid ... the temperature of the coolant should stay below the boiling point of pure water at normal atmospheric pressure, which is 100º C to be on the safe side.

guage is in C, not F

My 2015 GL 350 runs at the same temp.......winter......summer........all the time. It's been that way since new and I'm at 47k miles now.
