Haha Ill take that. I read into it wrongly ....it can be a fine line between two different meanings sometimes.

Where we're you able to get a vmi?....and if that's true.....what does that say about carfax.

Do you think autocheck might be better?

"Waiting for dealer responses" - man - I understand internet shopping - but if you find a rig that's a candidate for you - it's your job to pickup the phone - call the dealer - grab a salesperson - and chase chase that rig..... you don't want to put whether or not you get the rig that's best for you in the hands of a Internet Salesperson chit-chat... the CT rig is Mercedes Certified - very sharp price as you found - go grab someone there and get the specifics you need to make your decision - that's not-so-hard - but if you prefer to "keep looking" that's OK - but at some point in time if you want a new-Mercedes-for-you - you will need to "chase" and you will need to "make a decision"..

Found this on eBay, no warranty due to flood vehicle, can an aftermarket warranty be purchased on flood vehicle? Have read never buy flood vehicle....agree guys? Can't afford 2016 but looks good your thoughts?

Thoughts ? Flood Car - run away - and check your sanity.... what happened with CT - don't float away into the internet - Owning and Driving your own Mercedes is the genuine experience ... shopping is a pain...

CT engine looked filthy to me, like they didn't take the time to clean it.

Agreed - the engine photo was taken before the engine has a 5 minute wash - and if I understand correctly you didn't call that dealer on that GL550 at $42K for that reason.

And now you wanted to know about a "Flood GL" - as compared to a MB CPO GL you didn't call on.

Good luck in your search !

The CT car is no longer a CPO! Appreciate your condescending attitude, when I am simply seeking informed opinions.

Stay away from any flood vehicle or any other with a branded title. Repaired branded title vehicles are generally worth about half of what a normal titled vehicle is. You cannot purchase any kind of warranty coverage on a branded title vehicle. And that truck will become a nightmare to own for whichever sucker who buys it. Branded title (especially flood) vehicles are usually sold by shady companies looking for a huge profit margin....and most are repaired by cutting corners to save money and maximize profits.

IMO, it's a better move to purchase a lower mileage older one than spend $10-20k more to get one a couple of years newer with similar mileage. I purchased an aftermarket warranty that is better than the CPO warranty.

If he's locked in on a GL450, I'd go with a 2013 or 2014 instead of the V6 in the 2015. Those 2013-14 GL's have the identical motor (including turbos, exhaust, etc) that is in the GL550, only programmed for lower power by MB (probably to make GL550 pricing premium look like it had more value). A tune by any variety of tuners can push the HP from 362 to 550 or more in the GL450.
I have a CPO 2014 GL450, and agree with most of what you said. I view that year as a sweet spot, it has the V8 that is very tuning friendly, the third row pano roof, and isn't first year. My previous car was a first year and there were some small design changes that would have made life much easier doing my own maintenance. Drilling out poorly chosen bolts and more was not fun. The two most painful issues were changed next model year.

To the OP, I prefer the fake stuff over leather. It lasts well with no maintenance and stays cooler in the sun IMO.

There shouldn't be any bugs in the 2013 V8 models that would have been worked out by 2014. That engine/trans combo has been around since 2011.

2013 GL550 CPO, Steel Gray Brown/Black Leather Seats, Premium Package with Lighting Package, Mirror Package, Lane Tracking package, Blind Spot Assist, Pwr Dr Seat & Steering Column w/Memory Pkg, Driver/Passenger Multi-Contour Seats w/Massage, COMAND w/Navigation and Voice Control, Bi-Xenon headlamps w/Active Curve Illumination, rear seat entertainment, harman/kardon, command with navigation and voice control, headlamp washing system, 21" wheels, Soft Close Doors, Keyless Go, Parktronic with Active Assist, htd steering wheel, hitch.

Think thats it....just begining my MB ownership; the tutoring I got on here was beneficial, including reaching out to Jeff for extending the CPO warranty and the details behind that (if you do it within 30 days of purchase he says you get 15% off).

How did you get CPO on a '13 car? Must have been a very late production and punch?

Good question. I was told that you have to be within the original 48 months of when the vehicle was put into service.

Another possibility is that the original CPO certifying dealer extended an additional 1 year(5 year total)/75K miles, then you may still have the option of revising it to a 7 year total/75K or 100K CPO warranty? That is what I did to my GL320 when buying it 5 years ago but it was under factory warranty with CPO to 5/75K.

For anyone who watched this thread turn into a GL550 purchase, here's a '15 GL550 locally. $63k vs an MSRP of $102k.
