What To Do??
I am reaching out to you all in the MBWorld community for help or suggestions. It seems from my initial searching that NO Mercedes mud guards exist or will fit properly on a 2017/18 GLS550 with the AMG exterior package & running boards, seriously? I cant believe there isn't a automotive parts supplier that doesn't offer either the fronts (which are of greater interest to me) or rear guards to protect the running boards and lower painted rocker sections from pitting and road rash. I would very much appreciate hearing what it is that you have found useful in terms of what works and fits, if there really is no OEM option from MB. How it looks is honestly a distant criteria. I will certainly X-PEL the "all" high risk areas but would still like to have at least something behind the front 21' rims. Thanks in advance.

We have a 2017 GLS AMG63 with the same problem. I have ordered some from China (EBay) and the rear ones fit but the fronts do not. Our service dealer has told us there is no MB mud guards available so I don't think the 2013-16 mud flaps would fit. There are several offered on ebay from China but I think they will all be the same as what I bought. Like you, we would like to have some available. (Ohio)

Non oem guards
I have a 2010 x164, so different than the x166. It came with what looks like home made mud guards. I have a couple of pics in another thread. Pics are not displaying the guards that well, but give an idea. Mounted with, if IIRC, three screws each where the OE guards would. The look is meh, but that's not a problem for me. Function over fashion on this part.

They are not too thick and flex well when I push them in either direction. I can't say what material they are made of, but its a rubbery compound of sorts. They do the job and I like the flex. In the winter hard plastics as mud guards could crack from impact from road debris. Where I live, there is plenty of that to go around. If we could sell it, we'd be the richest province. 🙂
