2013 GL550

Recently bought this vehicle, since the minute I drove it off the truck, the right front tire pressure indicator has shown the tire cant hold pressure steady. I have refilled this everyday, have appointment at dealer tomorrow; have had tire inspected twice, and stem rebuilt neither have helped....anyone ever experience this? If tire is ok, wheel perhpas? Open to the "wise guys" here on MB forum!!

Thank you!

Is the wheel cracked on the inner lip? Have you taken the wheel off to spray anything down with soapy water or check for punctures?

Yes, the second time I took the car in to the tire dealer, they took it off the rim inspected it thoroughly (apparently) and found nothing! Very frustrating!

With your idea would it be noticable to naked eye?
Goes to dealer tomorrow, is under CPO, and its been like this since I took delivery about three weks ago.

Thank you

If it always leaks, there is an issue they aren't taking enough time to diagnose. Either the wheel is cracked (which should be visible) or there is a small hole or puncture they aren't seeing (or taking enough time to find). There is an issue, they just need to find and resolve it.

It's a common thing with any wheel that has a crack or a bead that doesn't seal very well....usually due to corrosion. Or a tire with a small leak. It is not a vehicle specific problem.

Yes - on a 2013 GL550 can be "micro" cracks in the wheel - very slow but consistent leak based on miles driven - or out-of-round wheel can cause minor leakage thru the tire seal (rarer)

A kindof end-of-the-line - have the tire swapped to wheel opposite side - and vice-a-versa - each will need to be re-balanced - if the leak stays with the wheel - then you know it's the wheel - wheel guy can check for roundness and re-true - if it's micro-cracked it will need to be replaced since sealant won't take care of that

I would "guess" replacement OE wheel about $650 eBay - some noce and some not-so nice "Mercedes style" rims from $800-$1200 a 4-set

Got car back today, after all day in the MB dealer, said they thoroughly checked the tire, and are aware of the micor cracks that can occur they didnt see anything (retighted the stem connector which was a little off) still leaking on the way home! Very frustrating not to mention inconvenient!
