2013 vs 2014 vs 2015
Hi guys, need your advice.
Thinking to trade my x164 to x166
One seller/dealer was telling me that 2014 model had some major (better) changes compare to 2013, in terms of componet/parts design etc.
Is it true?
What is the better choice and if here any difference?
(Speaking of GL350)
Cheers

Buy the newest one you can afford.

2013 early models didn’t have all the options as late 2013 to 2015
Early 2013s didn’t have power 2nd row. We have a 2013 and have no problem with it. Seems most early 2013 have better options built on them. To me one less part to break. But look around and while power seems nice there are issues with them due to variation on headrest design on no-power vs power.
2015 lost the 3rd row roof on pano.
2015 has newer COMAND if i recall. NTG 5 vs NRG4,5/7. Benefit is easier to add Apple CarPlay via a OBD2 adapter if my reading is right. 2013/14 can still have CarPlay added but
Slightly more involved.
So to me late 2013 or 2014 is best. Check Benzblogger.com to find order guides.
FYI the best option for these cars is Active Curve option code 468. Keeps body roll down and stable. If you can find one drive one without and then with and you will be amazed. The AMG 63s come with it standard so can drive one of those and then a 350/450/550 without to get a feel. Why people option these cars out skipping this great option amazes me. Yes it’s $4k at purchase but buying a $100k car new it’s a drop in the bucket.
You can run the VIN at datamb.com to get full option code for the car.
