Seat memory setting linked to key
Hi all,
I've seen many posts about this, but not recently and some of them conflict so thought I'd ask afresh .. Sorry for going over old ground !
I have a 2013 GL350 and I'd like to have the seats move into position when I open the car with my key. Likewise for my wife. Can this be done?
I had this feature on a 2001 3 series BM and it was fantastic. We often swap cars, and waiting for the seats to move, esp while having to hold the memory button in place is a real nuisance - especially if it's raining and we're hauling kids around ...
Many thanks!
Marc

They had this feature on earlier gl and Mercedes from mid 2000; but as far as I'm aware of they have gotten rid of this feature across the lineup.

Lexus has this too, and it’s great. Having to hold down the seat memory button for 16 seconds on my $200,000 MB really blows.

I'm glad i found this. Picked up the wife's car yesterday and we are going nuts trying to set memory functions. I thought they just didn't work. I have to check this out tomorrow morning in the car. Our other cars have had memory settings linked to a specific keyfob since 2010. Even if the non-driving one of use unlocked the car with our proximity, a quick press of D1 or D2 buttons would set up everything nicely, but holding the button down??....Damn!! I would have never tried that for seat memory. Seems dumb. Third row seating; that's a different story.
When we looked at MB, I thought it was great the the GL550 3rd row seats require only a quick press to come and and go down, whereas the Infiniti QX80, still through the '18 model year, requires a push/pull and hold. The MB seats are much faster to transition as well.
I guess we'll just get used to it.
