Best mount for iPhone?
Can people mention phone mounts they use and how satisfied they are with them? I *think* I want something that mounts on the vent (not CD) but I don't want to get something that falls off all the time. For the record I have an iPhone 8 Plus but I think universal mount might be better...

I love our aukey vent mounts. We have about 4 in different cars.
Unfortunately they don’t sell them anymore due to complainThe about metal scratching on the vents.
I do recommend the kenu airframe phone vent mount I got that one for my aunt and it works great.

All the vent mounts I've tried weaken over time and start to fall off. I went to a suction cup mount that's positioned the the lower lefthand corner and sticks out just above the vent left of the steering wheel. Works very well.

I use these Scosche mounts on two of my cars (not the MB though) they stick to the dash and magnet holds very strong

The strip is attached with very strong adhesive. I do not put it directly on the phone. My phones is typically in a case and the strip goes on the case. They do send a thin clear piece of plastic. The idea is to attach that plastic to the phone (assuming weaker adhesive) and attach the metal strip to the clear plastic
If you decide to get it, the dash mount needs to be left alone in place overnight for it to get to the max adhesive strength. I don't recall this in the instructions but that is what I had to do

Spigen magnetic vent mount for the win. Slip the metal plate inside your case and place the phone on top of it - no adhesive needed. I have one of these in very car we own and another in my suite case for rentals when traveling.

The only reason the magnet mount doesn't work for me is because we have many drivers that swap out our different cars.
Ensuring everyone has a magnet attached to their phone or case would be a headache considering how some think it clashes, some think it will break the phone and others just plainly don't want a magnet.
The universal vent mount just works out the best for us.
Mileage varies.

Your family members won’t even know it’s there. Just hop in the car and stick the phone to the vent mount and off you go. A slight twist when pulling up to remove the phone and the magnet stays put. I was skeptical too at first and now i wouldn’t use anything else. YRMV....

The magnets stay in the car firmly mounted to the vents. They come with a set of thin metal shims ( one round and one rectangle per magnet). You slip the metal shim into you phone case between the phone and back of the case. I use a very thin Spigen case and it fits perf ctly and doesn’t move around. The wife has a much thicker Speck grip case for hers and it works great with that one as well. You can also adhere the metal shim on a bare phone but i have never tri3d that.
