To Warranty, Or Not To Warranty?

Hello all! I am about to buy my first Mercedes! I am buying a 2014 GL CPO with 33k miles on it. Deciding on the 2 year extended warranty. $3500 seems steep. It would kick in in 2019. Trying to decide if it is worth it. Any advice would be appreciated. What can I expect to have to fix in year 6 and 7 of the GL 450? V8 engine. Thanks!

Call Jeff Jackson at Talfel Motors in Louisville, KY ((502) 894-6829). He always offers the best price on the Mercedes Benz Extended Limited Warranty. You do not have to buy it from the selling dealer. Any MB dealer can sell you the ELW. Also, not sure but you may be able to put off buying the ELW until your CPO is about to expire. Ask Mr. Jackson.
Best of luck.

I got it back in 2016 for $2800. I believe he's still working there. Another forum member reported he got the same price as well last year.

2014 GL450
I bought it when I got my '14 CPO GL450 this past spring. Car was at 36k miles then, and I plan on keeping it until just shy of a 100k. Didn't want any big money surprises to fix on my own dollar between now and then. Worth it in my opinion. Hope I don't need it, but I glad I have it.

Keep in mind that in order to purchase a Benz warranty, the rig's in service date must be under 48 months. It could be close in the case of a 2014. But if it's available, by all means GET IT!!

Solid advice there... it's exactly what I did last year after buying my CPO GL350. Tafel Motors gave me the best price I could find on the ELW and I got it through Jeff.

I was told there are 41 computer modules on these trucks. So a few are bound to fail.
