ML 350 Rear Brake Wear

My ML 350 has 49k on it. Its easy driving, not a lot of stop and go. Front pads fine but rears need replacement . in my experience sb other way around. what is the braking ratio when brakes applied for this car?

Is this really an OEM issue?

Same issue on my GL450. Rear pads down to 4mm and front pads at 7mm. I believe on these new cars rear bares are used more often as part of the 4matic system to make small traction adjustments. Seems to be common for rear pads to go before the front pads on these x166 vehicles

My Gl 320 went 75,000 miles without need for brake replacement. When traded in for new 14 Gl 350, rear brakes needed replacement at 48,000 miles.
Advances in “Auto Safety” most likely...
