Front Grill Removal Help

Hi all

Does anyone know if the grill can be removed without having to remove the front bumper cover to get access?

I asked my local dealer to print off the instructions and he said he would but theres a lot because it starts with the bumper removal, which Im surprised about, is that really necessary?

I have distronic but assume that has no affect on the need to remove the bumper and having watched videos of other models in the MB range i thought it would unclip and lift up and out, anyone know?

Model is GL63 AMG

Thanks

Carl

I cant seem to see that in your build thread, I saw you mention it pulls out from the bumper with some clips up and some clips down but i couldnt see any pictures of the access from the front slam panel etc.

I have distronic, is it easy enough to unplug it?

Thanks

Carl

Yeah pull the plastic trim piece that has the Mobil oil stickers on it off. Secured with some push rivets. Then you can see behind grill the tabs. Again some push up and some down if I recall. Not too hard. The distronic puck is mounted and out is the way behind the star. Only hard part I had was the 360 cam has like 3 clips and I broke on getting it off. Didn’t affect putting it back on and it’s plenty secure.
