Diesel fuel additive

I was recently told by my local service shop that Mercedes is coming out with a bulletin that is recommending Max-Tane additive to the fuel especially in the winter months. I also now have had to have a fuel injector replaced a week after initially using the additive. Coincidence? I have had some hesitation/shudder occasionally in the last few months. Could this additive have exasperated the issue? I'm now worried about a domino effect with the other fuel injectors. Thoughts or comments?

I run 3 ounces of Howes Meaner Power Cleaner on every tank, never had any issues in almost a year. Maxtane is made by Royal Purple, also a well-known brand.

Interesting.

I suspect there might be more feedback in the diesel subform.
