New GL450 Owner, 1 Question
Some may recognize my username from the X164 forums. I had a GL350 and was a guinea pig for some emissions deletes and tunes. Anyway, I bought a 2013 GL450 with 91k miles and I absolutely love it! It’s just amazing how this car rides and feels like a feather on the road and it’s smooth and powerful.
But, I have one concern as I’m new to the gasser world (seriously, the GL350 was my first car). I’ve been pushing the 450 hard for the past 24 hours and am starting to realize that the exhaust stinks like there’s no catalytic converters and it rattles for like 2 seconds when I start it and when I rev it sometimes. I’ve even had the CEL come on twice but when I scan it it doesn’t come up as anything so I clear it. Is it just bad catalytic converters and not like a timing chain issue?
I thank everyone in advance for taking the time and reading this unnecessarily long post!

Not sure if that's the cause of your rattle, but check service history to see if that's been done on your car.
