Airmatic strut options?
Hello all
2013 GL550 just crossed 110k miles. Airmatic is stuck in sport. Went to the local Indy and they said front driver side is “questionable”. $1600 to replace it? Fock that! It’s like 5 nuts and another 5 for the wheels. I’ll try to handle it myself.
Just wondering if if there are any options out there for the front struts? eBay, Amazon, and rockauto have some that are ranges from $300-$800. Anyone here has any luck tried those struts? I have not check the dealer yet. Any coil overs kit out there?

Arnott rebuilt work pretty good. The new Arnott's do not retain the ADS feature but will not cause any lights to malfunction. There is also new OEM but they are pricey. If you are keeping the truck, either how with rebuilt Arnott's or new.

Arnott is a rebuild for the front ones. The rear ones are new - i did replaced only one airbug while ago for 100 dollars - had no issues since then.

I just replaced mine with Arnott. The right suspension was the reason it was stuck in sport. It is recommended to change both at same time. Rock Auto and Parts Geek has the remanufactured for 530 +/- each. Mercedes also sells remanufactured. The new versions of the Arnott do not have the ads system, however it is built to bypass any lights to appear on the dash. Total I paid with installation was 1800.
For those who have the Arnott suspension, How does it feel in the front when you go over (What we call in NY) the slow down bumps. I feel like it somewhat tops off when going over the bump (best i can describe it) but then has a nice soft comfortable landing after you go over the bump. My question is, is the top of normal. There is no sound or anything like that. I just figured it be more smooth instead of somewhat stiff when reaching the peak of the bump.
