According to the previous tech,,,, he got the car with that one and only code.... he did everything Benz suggested and still got the same code.... runs and drives out fine... When code p001885 is cleared car starts right up but the code comes back the minute you start it.. after the code sets,,, you have an extended crank before start up... I checked the signal of the left bank intake cam sensor and compared it to the right bank intake signal,,, both are the same square wave except they both show intermittent spikes..... mileage is 142302... HELP!!!!!!

The fix for this issue is to take valve cover off and check relative position of camshaft sensor plates. Camshaft sensor plates are pressure fitter, sometime some of them slip off and that is the error given to you - one of the camshafts is not aligned with crank

P001885 on 13 E550
I have the same exact issue. Car starts up quick and runs fine but once that code appears, it hard starts. I've changed all camshaft position sensors and two of 4 magnets. Was about to change the last 2 before reading your posts. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

P001885 on 13 E550... FIXED... (Bad Camshaft position sensor)
In my case I had recently changed the Camshaft position sensors from FCP Euro so it never crossed my mind that one could be bad. I looked through my old sensors to find the cleanest one. Changed the O ring and swapped one on cylinder bank1 first. Cleared the error and started the car. Error came right back so I cleared it and swapped the sensor on bank2. Sure enough, that was the culprit!! I stopped and started the car about 10 times. The error never came back.
