Help! Tranny problem?

Help! Tranny problem?

For the past few weeks I've felt that the tranny isn't right. I mentioned it during my last "A" service and MB said it checked out ok. So I need to crowd source a standard. The attached video was taken today. As you can see, at 45 sec in the car gets to 54 mph and 2k revs and is still in D5. At the start I was on a slight incline but then the road was flat and I had to stop for a traffic light at 1:15. Got going again on a slight downhill slope and at 2:05 it goes into D6. What's your experience? You don't need to video it. On a flat road with slow to normal acceleration, when does your car shift from D5 to D6? TIA.

What engine and transmission do you have?

With an M276 and 7G-Tronic 722.9 in a W166 the 5->6 shift point is 35mph-40mph at 1500rpm-2000rpm with very light throttle on a level road with one person in the vehicle. The range of speed and rpm for the shift point is very sensitive to throttle speed and position.

Looks fine. You can pay for diagnostics. Or ask them to start adaptation program so transmission will adjust to your driving habits.

You can try doing transmission "reset" to restart adaptation:

It seems to have worked just as advertised. Light pedal allowed for quick upshifts. I had to tease it into D7 sometimes by backing off the throttle. Otherwise it's much, much better. Thank you again!
