2013 Gl350 Airmatic Malfunction Both rear air bags sagging
So I was driving home and got the (Up arrow Malfunction) for airmatic message. Rear is sagging and bouncy as all heck. Before i go to Indy shop any ideas ? compressor? both rear air bags? highly doubt was fine before. Or valve Block. I will probably be doing the repair myself but wanted to see if anyone knows what it could be before i start buying parts.

Doubt it's both bags. I woke to a sagging drivers' side this morning. It was really pronounced especially since it was in Sport Mode from the day before.

That's about right, I'm right at 80k. The same happened to my ML around the same mileage. Fortunately the rears are easier to replace than it is to change the rear brake pads so I'm not so worried (assuming the 164ML and X166 are designed similarly). It took me 30 minutes and $250 to replace on my ML.

So I replaced the rear air bags. Gl350 67k . It took longer to get it raised and secure than changing bags out. quick tip on taking them out take off rear liner and it makes it super easy to remove air shock. 2nd one took 30 minutes. First one and hour messing with Jack's and jack stands. No more issues ride is great again. Arnott to the rescue.

Well, the warranty covered the strut, but they did not cover the "valve body" that apparently was also faulty once they replaced the strut. I guess it's the mechanism that controls the air from the compressor out to the struts. But that's not covered and is about 1k to replace. Lovely.

This one cost me $2600. Covers the truck until 100k miles. $100 deductible. So far it's replaced the rear hatch motor, the 3rd row seat motor, one airmatic strut, an engine lifter that was causing an oil leak, soft close door motor and a couple other parts I can't remember. I bought this car from a large indy dealer in Dallas, ecarone. Car had 16k miles on it.
