i got a mail saying MB settled with HVAC issue and issuing reimbursements if you have repaired HVAC. i asked my dealer and they have absolutely no idea.
i'd like to know i can have my dealer inspect for HVAC issues and determine whether it needs repair. of course i do not want to pay for the inspection as it is defect from MB if there is an issue. anyone have any idea?

i don't think the fix is permanent. From what I understand the design traps condensation and mold grows, The fix is to clean and treat with cleaning chemicals. Have not heard of anything be changes to prevent it from reoccurring.

It's better described as a treatment, not a fix, in my view. No one has reported nor is there documentation to support, parts changes other than filters, related to the settlement.

I just heard from my dealer on this. They said there’s nothing you can do other than swap out the cabin air filters that are behind the glover compartment. Wish I knew where the mold settles so I could try to get that cleaned out too

I received a payment yesterday (12/23/20) via PayPal for reimbursement for the cost of air filters I installed a year ago

I just got a $300 check for the cleaning that was done at the dealer a couple months ago. Had to submit the paperwork online, check came in the mail.

I got a check in the mail. I have yet to deposited it in my account. The amount wasn't anywhere near what I should have received in the first place - based on the FQ&A of the original settlement. I am disputing it with MB this time. Just freaking unbelievable.

can someone post the details of the hvac issues that MB sent out? Sometimes i smell damp cool air coming out during the summer when AC is used.
