Headlight washer cover

Hi. The headlight washer cover has mysteriously come off my GL550

I have ordered a new cover, however it is not clear how this attaches back on. Is it glued?

Thanks

@Andy Scott Have you searched this site and YouTube? I did both quickly and didn't find anything. Can you post several well lit and clearly focused photos of your vehicle showing the missing cover?

Here is up close of cover. I could not find anything online as to how it fits back on.

Looks like it is pushed in and held in by clips that should be mounted on the piece that fell off.

@Andy Scott Do you have the new part in hand? Can you post photos of it (clear, focused and well lit)? Agree with BlownV8 that there are clips involved. They are either integrally molded in the cover piece, or separate clips. A photo of the new cover will give the answer.

Arrived today. Needs to be painted, did include spring. No immediately obvious how spring attaches though.

@Andy Scott Can you please post a few more photos showing a 360 degree view? There needs to be a retention method, either integral or via a separate clip or retainer.

Spring does not appear to fit anywhere on the cover. It is narrower than the tabs.

Do you think you have all of the required parts? I checked WIS and there is no detailed procedure for this. Please post your VIN for better confirmation in WIS.

Look at the parts diagram, your vehicle and the links below to be sure you have all of the parts.

Can you have an assistant operate your headlamp washers, while you observe them?

Have a look at this for better understading:
