Dulling Running Boards

I would like to keep the running boards looking better than they are now, anyone clean them ??? If so with what...

Thank you. This was really helpful. I decided that I will be keeping them. Will just need to remember to change how I enter and exit the car and step on them. But once this becomes a habit I think they would be great.

It's the nature of the beast. Brushed aluminum oxidizes over time. The rubber nubs make it hard to clean thoroughly. Best thing I can imagine is a power tool (drill with brush attachment) and soapy water. Plus time and elbow grease. Not worth the effort in my view.
