X166/GL350/2014/OM642 engine timing chain replacement and no low speed engine accel
At 186k Miles, I decided to change out the timing chain. It was stretched nearly a full link beyond the new one. I changed it out, make 100% certain that the dots on the cam shaft gear teeth lined up correctly, with the crank shaft at "OT" (0 TDC). On starting it up, rapidly pressing on the gas pedal took the engine from 600ish RPMs to 1850 RPMs over about 4 seconds (very slow ramp up).... then a rapid jump to 2200-2350 RPMs in what seemed like the turbo kicked in.
Rapidly taking the accelerator back to idle gives a terrible sound to the engine, almost like a cam shaft rattling around its journals.
Any ideas on what this could be?
Other important info: I completely disassembled the front timing cover and two valve covers AGAIN, to make 100% sure the timing was correct -- everything was correct. Also, the correct sealant for the valve covers and torque were used.
ALSO changed at the same time: a lot of gaskets and orings, the fuel pressure sensor, the oil cooler gaskets, the pressure sensors on the intake manifold, the differential pressure sensor w the two hoses on it, on the rear left of the engine.
ANY ideas would be helpful.
Also I have Xentry C6 available -- but received no codes other than low batter voltage (From running the battery down).
