I only received one fob with my GL when I bought it. Went to MB because each fob is programmed for your vehicle only that is why they are expensive, all in cost me about $1000 Canadian. Mercedes from what I understand has one of the best security systems in their fobs so I honestly would not trust a third party on this. I also misplaced a fob and had to pay $180 to have it disabled, it turned up about a month later in the pocket of a coat I only wear once in awhile and of course another $180 to reactivate it. When I went to the MB Service dept.near me the service guy said nope one time activation only, buy another one. Called another dealer service dept and they said no problem they can do it. The fob can only activated/deactivated a certain number of times, but they wouldn't say how many.

I went back and looked at the invoice;
Key FOB $318
Mechanical key (??) 65
Labor 50
Total $433
I was going form memory on the $300, so I forgot about the other two charges. I have no idea what the mechanical key was, but if its the key that is inserted in the FOB, that's a bit much. Anyway, it was a couple of years ago, so i would expect that the pricing should not have changed all that much, certainly not to $800.
