Replacing one rear air spring

I have a sag on my left rear, so I was looking to only replace the one. Is it a problem if I just do the one? I hate to be cheap, but I also hate to waste the money, time and effort of doing both if it's not necessary.
Thanks in advance

Might as well do both. If one goes, the other is probably not far behind.

I'm not super mechanically inclined and I replaced both myself. It was super easy. No strut to remove, no spring compressor to use, etc. Took me about 30 minutes per side. There are youtube videos that help, and it cost me $100 for both.

Here are the ones I ordered, been fine for a few months now.

Thanks. Yes, seems super easy. I went with Bilstein since I heard one guy say in his video cheaper ones have been known to blow when towing. I do NOT want that.

I used Arnott air springs. I felt the Bilsteins are over priced.

I paid $180 on Rockauto. Arnott wasn’t much, if at all, cheaper.

Your spring has not failed.

would you consider a worn down tire or ineffective windshield wiper blade a failure?

Airmatic air springs are—like tires and wiper blades—limited life items, requiring periodic replacement as a matter of course. So are hydraulic shock absorbers on any vehicle.

the facts are that Airmatic air springs and your hydraulic shock absorbers all have quite similar life expectancies, and your single spring incident (assuming it is a leaking spring) is indication that it’s near time to replace them all.

This is the reality. Most people fight it. The reality is your Mercedes is closer to being a Ferrari than to being a Camry. Cost of doing business.
