GL Door hinge replacement?

2013 GL450
GL Door hinge replacement?
I have a bad creak/clunk in my lower driver door hinge. I cannot find any videos or how-tos for replacing the hinges on the x166.

The door hinges do not haven exposed bolt head, so I am guessing there are nuts on a stud that can only be accessed from in the door and indie the A-pillar?

Has anyone done this?

Yes, that may help. It does confirm on a GLE that the bolts on the A pillar side can be accessed from behind the footwell trim. Also, I checked with a mirror and the hinge bolts on the door side actually have a torx head, which isnt that obvious, and should be able to come out without getting to the back of them from inside the door.

Thanks for the feedback. If anyone has done this please share your experience.

2013 Mercedes GL350 Bluetec (X166) & 2019 Mercedes A220 (W177) & Retired 2008 Mercedes C300 (W204)
Read this post earlier and happened to be on the laptop today where I have WIS. I downloaded 3 files for the GL350:
  • Remove/Install Front Door
  • Remove/Install Hinge of Front Door
  • Adjust Front Door
Hopefully this helps you out.
