shudder while accelerating/load
My 2013 GL450 is in great condition but recently started shuddering as I accelerate or is under load going up a hill. I have looked at many online articles but it seems that there are many things it could be.
It ranges from a torque converter, CV joint, axle, transmission to a software update. Any suggestions?

If it feels like chain skipping teeth - then it's very common with older GLs. It's the chain in the transfer case that is stretched and skipping teeth. The solution is to replace the chain, the chain and the gear, or the whole transfer case with a rebuilt one.

My wife's '13 GL450 started doing something similar to that. I jumped on it yesterday coming home and it sputtered and the SES light came on. Got it home, checked the code and it said 'MISFIRE, #2 CYLINDER'.
Got out, went to my tool box to grab some tools and came back to the car to read it again and the code was gone and it ran as smooth as silk. Drove it to work and used a Professional scanner and it too said #2 Cylinder Misfire but it was in the History file and not the Active File.
Got off of work, drove home and it did it again. Got up this morning to verify #2 Cylinder again and the code is gone and its running like a Champ.
I contacted a local Mercedes/Porsche/Jaguar shop and he said spark plugs or Coil Pack. The dealer replaced the plugs at 67K and the car has 96K. Sounds like a Coil issue, I'm going to replace the coils (plugs too since I will be there) and see if that fixes it. I just got to save up
