AC Leak - Rear Wheel Well

Hello
I have a 2014 GL 450 and am experiencing A/C issues for last couple of months. Inserted some UV die in the line and located the leak in the AC line above the driver side - Rear wheel well. It is in the Warm/ Liquid line.

Has someone experienced anything similar and pls advise on a diy fix such as a line splice instead of replacing the entire line from front to back (A1668306015)? From the last pic, it seems if we just replace the O ring in the line that should address the leak. Thoughts?
Thanks,

Hello brother, This is my customer was facing of the same problem of GL 550 4MATIC for couple of years so when the car came to my shop, I told the customer to leave the car for some time for proper trace of leaks where he did so. So upon tracing the leaks, found out that there is a bunch of leaks around the real pipes so I removed the real pipes and fixed new ones and that solved the leaks. Sometimes, you need to get time to pressurised the system for some days to check if there is no drops of leaks .

Thanks. Was able to figure this out. The Freon leak was from the seals where the line joins the rear evap. Was an easy fix to replace the O rings.

Where is this located above the rear wheel? Do I have to remove interior panel or is it above wheel well cover?

Our 17 GLS is losing Freon after about a month and mechanic can’t find source even with dye. He fears it may be evap core but I’m not sure if he looked in this rear location. I noticed oily residue behind drivers rear wheel well appearing to have come up from above, but that could be from a puddle for all I know.

Doesn’t sound like the evap cores are generally trouble spots on these cars with regards to Freon…

Just drove back by mechanic and showed him oily residue on back wheel well and lower bumper, as well as pictures from this forum. He pulled out UV light and confirmed this is indeed the source of the leak! He is going to have an evap on hand in case it is not just the o-ring.

Big thanks to this thread!
