I am STUMPED! Overhead Console Lights
Hey All -
Went to install a dash cam, followed someone on here tapping into their overhead controls for a radar/dash cam and long story short - my overhead lights are not working. Can't figure if/what shorted - yes I checked to ensure the switch was not bumped, individual lights won't work, the rear door overhead lights won't work - only the trunk.
All other functions work fine, no error messages, sunroof opens/closes normally just can't figure out what or why do I not have any overhead lights when opening the door. Not new to tinkering and doing electrical work, just the Benz is kicking my ***. Checked every single fuse, from engine to side passenger, to behind the seat in the back row - nothing blown, the chart doesn't show any specific fuse for interior lighting, but I checked every single one anyways - no luck. Is there a control unit for all this?
My thought it might be a bad control unit - but would that bad unit not allow the rear lights to come on? If the unit was bad, would the sunroof switch still work? Could it be the Rear SAM unit? I'm assuming something else would be a culprit?
