2014 GL500

I have noticed that steering isn't as smooth/easy anymore. Happened relatively sudden I think. It takes a little more "force" to turn. It still has power steering, but it's lost a little sensitivity making is slightly harder to turn the wheel.

Indy recommended full replacement of rack, but this seems pretty aggressive. Are there any sensors etc. or other items to check before going that route? Also, is the electrical motor a separate item to replace before going full rack?

Vehicle has no codes that I could find related to this issue.
