See below and attached
Splitview in COMAND is easily misunderstood.
Basics are this - the feature is "accessible" from the factoryfor all units - then can be made "inaccessible" by the dealer in those states where delivery of Splitview is prohibited - what states those are - much less if a MB dealer knows they are in prohibitied states - I doubt few affected dealers do know.
The basics are this:
1) Splitview is "activated" by System menu, however...
2) When activated Splitview is under control from passenger side - for passenger side "view"
I have attached a copy of the pertinent manual pages from the COMAND manual - unfortunately GL's don't ship with this COMAND manual - you can now download the full COMAND manual from mbusa.com dealer support.
Hope this helps !

I had trouble getting it to go at first as well. The way I use it is as follows (may be more than just this way): With Command on in the front and Spilt View set to on in the Systems menu, I (or the passenger) use the remote control toggled to split view to turn on the DVD in the command unit (or from the Rear DVD unit). That turns it on for the front seat passenger. I have only used the headphones with it but suspect you could pump the audio through the speakers again using the remote control. When I try to do it just from the main Command, it doesn't seem to stay on for the front passenger when I move from Park to Drive.
Hope that helps.
BTW, my kids have found Splitview to be the coolest feature/trick ever . . .
Kind regards

8 weeks in I have some feedback for those ordering.
Not super impressed with the Harmon Kardon Audio system. Have not listened to the B&O for comparison but would consider it if sound quality is important.
After the break in miles I had my dealer do the Reentech upgrade. You can feel the difference. I think the extra power would be more usable in a smaller and lighter vehicle but glad I had it done.

I'm impressed by the B&O system. I would DEFINITELY get it again on any new build. Clean, clean sound and not thumping at all. Bright trebles, deep base, separation and detail is fantastic. Not sure about the price tag but, one of best I've heard from a factory option.
I wish I had the for site to order the Burmeister in the Porsche

Car spent whole day at dealer and they couldn't figure out how to activate the Splitview. Apparently MB changes the way the dealers activate it.

For anyone that has the GL63 I hope you live in a dry warm area, went into my dealer today and there was one in the show room, the continental tires are next to useless in Toronto winter weather, although they are the same 10x21 size as my vehicle the tires are completely different, I cant see how anyone could use those tires even with light snow.

Hey guys, what can I expect to pay for a GL63? One on the ground here for $130g MSRP. Dealer states MSRP is best price and other dealers charging thousands over MSRP. Is this correct?

I had a GL550 on order becasue I didn't want to wait for a GL63. When the dealer called that a GL63 was available I said it was sold. I paid sticker.

GL63
Yes, MSRP is the best price for GL-63. It is simple, if there is not that many to go around, some dealers will try to see how much more they can get for this unique vehicle. The worst that it can happen'......sell it for MSRP...
I would say pay MSRP while the car is still available.....
