Last AMG, I signed up my wife through the PL and we went together. Was lots of fun. This time I want to do the same. PL has a nice discount for the paid admission.

Although there is a good bit of AMG marketing, I highly recommend the academy. Mb spends a lot of money to get these together.

I was MORE than pleasantly surprised with the AMG Experience. The instructors were active racers, mine had his IndyCar license. The one day program is more an intro and learn to drive the AMG's near their limits. You are encouraged to drive the cars hard and when you think you've done that, the instructor gets behind the wheel to demonstrate which sets sets the bars higher. If I only drove one car the whole time, my guess is that I would have gone through almost a whole set of tires.

It was a White Glove experience with a LOT of driving. I would recommend going during the week days as you'll drive even more with less customers (better instructor ratio). My dealer is one of the largest AMG dealers in the country (maybe world?) and I was the ONLY one to ever take advantage of the offer.

Yes, I do recommend. After only one day, unless you're an active racer, you WILL become a better driver.

I'll be taking the 2 day Advanced Course in the Fall.

AMG Models offered and driven include: SLS, E63, SLK55, CLS63, SL63, C63 (SLS Black and C63 Black also on hand)

I second all of the positive comments on the AMG Driving Academy. Went to Palm Beach International Raceway this past May. I was surprised (pleasantly) at how much the instructors pushed us to drive the cars faster, harder . . . Really cool to go flat out on the straightaway in an SLS (and SL63). Definitely learned about how to be a better driver along the way.

Curious about what you liked for the rides. My favorites in order:

1) SLS - what an engine.
2) C63 507 - seemingly all of the instructors' favorite car. I had never driven a C63 before but wow at that price point and for a model about to be replaced - just the right size and really showcased the engine.
3) SL63 - So comfortable and so fast at the same time.
4) E63 - Very familiar since I have one but still prefer the 6.2 V8 after driving it with the 5.5 TT.
5) CLS63 - Too little headroom for me (with the required helmet)
6) SLK55 - Fine but the engine did not seem AMG special. Like the regular (pre 4.7 TT V8) E550 engine.
