Ideally you want the diameter to be the same or very small difference. You're at 30.7" and 30.9".

staggered doesn't matter - stock wheels on certain AMG's are staggered for example. The rolling diameter just needs to be the same or else you throw off your sensors and can harm your AWD system and also cause failure.

I don't want to say a definite yes or no because I don't know the tolerances. A difference in tire wear could make that difference, but I wouldn't do it. If you want to run two different tire sizes that's fine - just find two that have the same overall diameter.

I'm trying to figure out how much of the car I need to Xpel to protect from rock chips if I move to 305/40/22 Tires. @jargoude do you mean the portion by the quarter or is it on the doors as well?

I would do the lower portion of the door right above the running board section and the rear bumper to the right and left of each rear wheel. I am not sure how the progression would look as to where to stop the Xpel on rear bumper. Maybe have the entire rear bottom half of bumper protected to make it look un noticeable.

Had the Michelin 305/40/22 test fitted today on the stock 22” wheels and they rub on full lock.

Decided against them since it’s my wife’s car and will likely just get the 285/40/22 again.
