So this Hunk arrived / GLS63 2021 / review / pictures
After booking in April, I got mine in the end of August. This was just days after this rumor that Merc would stop making V8s.
I added all packages / options that are being offered by Mercedes and I’m so glad I did. Went with 22s deliberately as I drove a 23 inch and it was slightly uncomfortable and had a noisy cabin.
I’m very happy with my purchase and even feel lucky that I got it before the cancellation debacle.
It is S class luxury with a sports car engine that drives so comfortable and fast at the same time. Not to mention with the perks of high seating and that commanding position.
Here are the best things I like:
That steering
Head up display
Growl and speed at my disposal
Those amazing seats with that Napa leather
Beast presence in day or night
Combination of that amazing interior and self driving capability
3d surround sound

things I don’t like
carplay is middle aligned with empty spaces on left and right. I wish it was wireless
Congratulations! I have had mine for 11 months, have 6,000 miles on it and have to say I like it more every day. I agree I wish it had wireless apple car play. Enjoy!
A couple of questions.... I also ordered the executive plus rear seat package but I didn't receive those extra pillows for the driver and passenger seats. I do have them in the rear, but would like them in the front also. Did they come with the package or did you have to order separate?
It's difficult to tell from the pictures, but are your seats all leather or is there a small section of the seat that has the alcantara material?
Last question, but not sure if you or anyone else here has noticed a lot of pitting in the paint of lower panels even the running boards are taking a beating. It might be from the 23" rims but I'm not sure. I'm considering getting mud flaps installed or PPF down there.
Are you totally happy with the ride quality on the 22's? Is the ride "busy" at all? Much quieter than the 23's?
Or, in retrospect, would you go for the 21's? Thx
Absolutely happy. I actually tested a 23'' one before placing an order. I wouldn't go 23'' on this. 22'' is a perfect balance of looks and comfort.
I'd never ever go 21'' on this.

The seats are all leather. Roof is Alcantara.

first impressions very favorable - big car, premium materials, not as fast as prior EC’s but solid software has made ,y first week of driving a pleasure after the lucid.
