I have a 2019 GLS63 which came with the OEM Trailer Hitch (Code 550), a $575 option. But from my reading on this site, it seems that there's a difference between having the trailer hitch, and having the tow package.

From this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/gl63-amg-...h-install.html it talks about the only way to get the increased 7350 lb tow capacity (this is in reference to the GL63) from the trans reprogramming is if you ordered the vehicle new with the OEM tow hitch. Otherwise the towing limitation is 3K lbs.

If you want full OEM trailer brake control, lights, and anti sway features, you need the hitch, the wiring harness that runs to front of car and the 7 pin connector for hookup."

So I know I have the tow hitch itself, factory installed. How do I know if I have the tow package? I don't see it on the window sticker. But VIN Decoding shows Code 550 = "Trailer coupling with ESP® trailer stabilisation"

Having said that, the photos of my trailer hitch show a towing capacity (of the hitch) of 7500 lb. And there is a socket that connects to a harness that goes forward.

1) Is it safe to assume this means I have the factory tow package as well, even though it's not listed on the window sticker?

2) The tow harness plug is just that: a plug socket. How can I convert that to be a 13-pin DIN plug? Esp if there is an OEM adapter for this.
