2018 GLS 63 Misfire, Cyl 1 and Cyl 2
Last Sunday I started the truck and the check engine light came on. Did a scan and I pulled misfire codes on cylinder 1&2. See below. Could be coils, plugs, or possibly the cam position sensor(s).
The truck is five years old, I’m planning on doing spark plugs myself, as well as the spark plug boots.
After searching for the forum - cam position sensor can leak into the plug and my be a common problem. Left bank sensor had what appeared to be a very small amount of oil in it. The other 3 sensors did not.
Cleaned out the oil filter in the sensor and the plug. Planing on putting a new one in.
My question is- can I clear the code using my scanner (tried- but it wouldn’t) and see if it reappears or will the truck have to cycle a number of times (successfully- with no misfire) before the check engine light goes off?
Thanks in advance.

what position is the key in when you try and clear it - I have to have the keyfob in and in ON (not engine running) position.
also I use icarsoft 3.0 to clear it, some scanners can't clear it
is truck tuned
what gas and how old was the gas
under what circumstance did it misfire - WOT?

Car is total stock. It is not tuned. The check engine light occurred I believe briefly when I fired it up but the engine runs fine.
i’ve been looking at getting a Youcanic scanner, but I haven’t seen anybody who’s had luck clearing codes yet.
i’m thankful I was at least able to narrow it down to which cylinders on the truck.
Gas was fresh as I have gone through about five tanks of gas since I purchased it. No issues. I’m really hoping that it is a storage code and possibly linked to the leaky cam position sensor on the far left bank.
Again, thank you for the guidance – I will check out the other forum as well.
