2014 GL63 AMG
Faulty Door Sensor
I have a 2014 GL63 AMG. The issue at hand is that while driving earlier it said the rear passenger door was open. I stopped and made sure it was closed but it keeps reporting that it is open. The bigger issue is that when I lock the car and go away from it then it will eventually think someone is breaking in as the sensor reports the door is open and the alarm will start going off. Also noticed that it would happen more frequently when traveling over rougher/bumpier roads. Seems to be some sort of loose connection somewhere.
I’ve read a few things about people having the rear SAM faulty due to water intrusion and they cleaned it thoroughly and solved their problem. My issue is that with the AMG model it doesn’t seem to be exactly where others say that it is or is it underneath the Harmon and Kardon speaker box in the right side of the cargo area?
Or if anyone has any other ideas as to what the issue would be that is causing this.
