2021 USED GLS63 PRICES--ANYONE HAVE ACCESS TO RECENT SALES AND MANHEIMS?
Hey guys,
I was thinking of upgrading my GLS550, and was looking at the GLS580's. Pricing still seems pretty high for resale, kind of pushing me to look at the GLS63 ( I love the 4 liter motor, I own a E63 W213 wagon as well, and its divine)
Personally I think there is still a post covid hangover, normally AMG cars lose 50% of their MSRP value in 3 years...and from what I am seeing out there in the used space, pricing is still way too high. I was looking at 30-40k mileage units in the 90-100k range, and I did a reverse look up to get valuations if I had a vehicle like it to trade, and trade in value for the 2021 GLS63 with 40k miles was in the high 70k range. Seems like the dealerships are sitting on units they overpaid for, and while I think there should be opportunities to negotiate, the pricing seems about 20k over what the real valuations should be. 2021 GLS63 with miles should be a 70-80k SUV at this point. Interest rates over 8%, inventory piling up....maybe i am foolish to even entertain buying one at this point. There is a used car market crash coming, I think it has already happened, but the dealers are trying to prop up the market by keeping prices higher than normal. I have time and can wait, but I wanted to see if anyone had access to Manheims Auction data or GLS63 used car sale prices this month or last month. I obviously do not want to pay the covid hangover premium, and I want to solid FAIR deal for what the vehicle should be worth.
Thoughts?

I agree with everything you said. I bought my 2017 63 in 2020 with 15,000 miles on the clock. I paid 81. Original msrp was 131,0000. I was recently entertaining moving to a 2020 s63. They wanted to give me 40 for my car and wanted an insane 90k for the S and it even had a blemished carfax. At 3% loan in my truck, I’ll be holding on to it for a long time. Just turned 50k.

I think this is a tough vehicle to price right now... I have a 2022 AMG to sell - only has 3000 miles and is essentially brand new. MSRP was almost $144k. I'd like to get $134k, but don't know if that's realistic.
My understanding is there's a wait at the dealerships if you're trying to buy new.
