My reversing camera has all of a sudden started to behave differently. It now only activates if REVERSE is the first gear selected after ignition. Once I select DRIVE, then REVERSE the camera fails to activate. So if I need to manoeuvre backwards immediately after ignition then all good, but if I drive first then sometime later need to reverse into a space then the camera does not operate. No error messages on console and no fault codes on ODB. I've check in System Settings and the box is ticked for reversing camera and I've even disengaged the battery for 30 minutes just in case a reset would fix this. I can't see it being wiring or the gear sensor as I can reproduce the error every time and a wiring fault would typically be intermittent and increasingly fail over time. Anyone seen this / have a fix to avoid expensive diagnostics ?

Sounds like there's a miscommunication going on somewhere but I'm not sure where it might be.
