Glovebox locking mechanism won’t allow it to open
Hello, I purchased a 2015 Mercedes GLA250 with low mileage from a local Mercedes dealer, and while it has some issues, I was able to acquire it at a wholesale price. The problems are mainly cosmetic, including door handles, a rear window wing, and a rear bumper that require repainting due to clear coat damage. I received a quote of under $900 from a local body shop for the necessary repairs. Furthermore, the glovebox is non-functional, and despite attempts by both myself and the dealership to open it, it remains inaccessible. The dealership offered to replace the glovebox, but I would need to pay for it and arrange installation. I am seeking advice, ideally in the form of a video or instructions, on how to open the glovebox, as I have experience working on cars but have never encountered this specific issue before. It is worth noting that the lock cylinder can be transferred to a new glove box.
