2015 GLA 250
Please help Not able to determine code and location or identification of this part!!

Good day all! I have a 2015 GLA 250. I hear a strange noise coming from the engine. So I connected my EDiag and received this message “P06DA00 The Actuation Of The Valve Of The Oil Pump In The Combustion Engine Has An Electrical Fault Or Open Circuit.”
I tried to look this code and part location with negative results I decided to do an oil change and saw a part attached to the oil pan with a wire harness, that was failed out with engine oil. For the life of me, I cannot figure out this part. I think it’s a sensor and or solenoid of some kind. I’m not a mechanic of any sort and

I’M lost can anyone help?

I have found the parts guy at the local dealership to be an excellent source of information. YMMV

I think that is the oil pressure reducing solenoid, and on many engines people just unplug it. If it fails closed, you'll fry your engine. If you leave it open all the time (by unplugging it), it can never close and the only drawback is you will get unnoticeably worse fuel economy.
