Just got my build confirmation for my GLA45 AMG Edition 1
So I just got my build confirmation for my GLA45 AMG Edition 1 and it has a "MEX" in front of the order. Does this mean my car will be built in Mexico? I thought ALL AMG's are built in Germany. Anyone know??

I read reports somewhere about CLA's being built in Mexico in the future....could be it?

The GLA is built alongside the A class in Germany. The Mexico plant isn't slated to build Mercedes cars for a few more years. I fell in love with the GLA at the Detroit unveil, and now I've got a late 2015 order for a GLA45 non edition 1 to replace my girlfriend's B.
What stands out with the GLA is that it doesn't look like a SUV or crossover at all. It just looks like a hatchback. Sitting on its own without other cars nearby as reference, it looks to be the same size as a VW GTI. It's only when it's sitting with other cars do you notice it's bigger.

I'm heading to some dealers tomorrow to put in an order for a GLA45. I'm trying to get some competition on price. I see over 170 CLA45's on Autotrader yet press implies they are selling all they can make. For those who have ordered are there any discounts? I haven't ordered an AMG since 2006 and they wouldn't talk discounts back then. But that was before we entered the age of despair...

Anyway no one was in line for a build and the dealer demo was scheduled to be built in August. They offered to modify and reserve the build for myself for a delivery in October.
I can get my 1 G deposit back, so I decided why not? Even if I don't know the price I can back out.
I think this will be a rare duck. Don't expect Americans to go for it but it's what I've been looking for over all these years.

I think it will be at first but the 45 is the technology we been waiting for. It won't be a typhoon or an R63. More of a grand national just like the CLA45 will be. When a little tuning can get you 400+ hp at the rear wheels and good fuel economy this will have demand. I'm more excited about this car than all the previous.

Anyway many posts about it not being an MB and they would spend the money on a similarly priced E series.
But of course and E series is not what I want.

From C63 to GLA 45... Assuming GLA 45 have similar cornering ability as the CLA 45, you will enjoy the handling of GLA45 more than C63. It will take you awhile to get the know the characteristic of the M133. After driving the CLA45 for a littler over 8 months, I still like the power output from the M156.
