Cooling fan behavior
Hi Folks,
I recently had my GLA45 serviced and can't tell if something is broken or just different. My GLA45 never would do the stop and go thing where the engine cuts out at stoplights. The dealer determined that my battery was dead and some other adjustment had to be made. Now that works perfectly but I noticed something else. It can be well below freezing outside,I do a short drive and when I shut the engine off the cooling fan runs for quite sometime. This is definitely the cooling fan and not the pump that runs for the turbo.. Is this normal behavior?
Things I checked:
It does not seem to matter if the AC is on or off
The coolant level in the reservoir is fine
It does not matter what type of driving I am doing, highway or city.
Operating temperatures are normal
Thank you,
Ed

Since this has only started happening since your last trip to your MB dealer, I would take your car back to your MB dealer, explain your new symptom and see what they say. I would shut your AMG off in their presence and see what happens. It's best if you can actually show them the problem when it's taking place.
