Looking to get GLA45 - Suspension Question

Greetings,

I am looking at getting an used GLA45 (2016-2018) and wanted to get thoughts on the adaptive dampening and if it is a must have for folks that have it. I currently have a 2002 CLK55 and 2006 E55. I have 3 suspension modes on the E55 and it is really nice. The CLK has no suspension settings and I am so used to it - and while it is firm it's not crazy firm. I live it Chicago and the streets are rough so I am really holding out for getting this option but I find it is on maybe 2 out of 10 cars. I test drove 2 of these so far both 2017's with the adaptive suspension. It was nice and really firmed up when sport mode was engaged but I think I want it more for the comfort. Does anyone know if a GLA45 without adaptive is as one with adaptive in sport mode or the firmest setting? I need to pull the trigger soon and it's getting harder to find what I want in my price range with the adaptive suspension.

thanks for any input!

I had a 2019 without the adaptive suspension. Now I have a 2018 with it. I find it very subtle. I could easily skip it.

Following up on this. I know this is probably a long shot or not worth the hassle but does any one know if it is possible to add the (459) adjustable dampening socks (comfort/sport) to a GLA45 that was not shipped with that option. 2016 - 2018. I ask because the option was only $850 and maybe it is doable. I realize it would be more tan $850 after the fact but I really would like to get tis option and it is tricky to find the GLA45 I want with this and everything else I want.

thanks

I have a 2019 without the adaptive suspension, but with then non race seats. I think the more padded seats are very important to daily commute.

Thanks again for the replies. I test drove a 2015 near my city today. It had the sport suspension (non adaptive), 20 inch wheels and the regular leather (non race) seats and it was firm but fine. Nothing much different from my CLK55. Really nice car and if it was a 2016 or newer I would've bought it.

Check out the GLA owners forum, there's a 2016 for sale.
