HANDS-FREE ACCESS (Kick to open tailgate)
On the MBUSA website, it states that HANDS-FREE ACCESS is part of the Premium Package. However, on the window sticker of the car, it does not list HANDS-FREE ACCESS as part of the Premium Package. I have tried to do the kick to open motion per page 78 of the user manual, but it does not seem to work. Does anyone know if HANDS-FREE ACCESS is actually in the GLB250 for the US?

Just because you couldn't get it to work doesn’t mean it's not there.....it seems to cause a lot of difficulties for most people!

[QUOTE=decorily;8183481]Yup, I understand this feature may be hard to get working, so I wanted to know if it’s me or if it’s the car. So, now I know it is an included feature, I’ll keep trying to get it to work.
Same issue here. 0 out of 10 successful rate after picking up. Call the salesman. Reset smart key with pressing lock and unlock. Press both buttons(with a STOP sign) on the tailgate to "reset" the tailgate I believe. Then one press lock button to lock the car. Kick now. 2 out of 10, at least it works now.
Different from other models, if your GLB equipped a premium package, you should already have that insensitive kicking motion sensor per manual. I believe an easier way to identify whether you have hands free access under keyless go is that you would see a touchable niche on the door handle.

I managed to get this working pretty consistently. With my wife’s Audi, I have to make a pretty deliberate kicking motion them step back to make the tailgate open. With the GLB, it’s actually quite different. I stand about 10 to 12 inches away, and gently swipe my feet under the car. It has worked pretty consistently this way so far.

it works well with mine too. Your gesture has to be rather slow, and between the 2 parking radars on the right side of the car (= not in the middle).
I can easily open and then close the tailgate.

Usa premium package car here.... I didn't think I had kick sensor bc my option list only said power rear lift. But sure enough key in pocket... make sweeping motion with foot... pop trunk opens. Nice!
